What is a D-7 Visa?

The D-7 visa (Intra-company Transfer) is a residency status granted to foreigners who are dispatched as essential professional personnel to branches, subsidiaries, or liaison offices established in Korea by public or private institutions with headquarters overseas.

D-7 visa holders may only engage in work related to the purpose of their transfer and can legally reside and work in Korea during the transfer period.

Employees transferred to Korean branch/subsidiary after 1+ years at overseas HQ, branch, or affiliated company

Essential personnel in management, administration, technology, sales, and other professional fields

Liaison Office Representative

Personnel handling business communication and market research at a Korean liaison office of a foreign company

Key Requirements

  • 1+ year work experience at overseas headquarters (some exceptions apply)
  • Branch, subsidiary, or liaison office legally established in Korea
  • Clear transfer purpose with essential job duties
  • Proven relationship between overseas HQ and Korean entity (capital relationship, contracts, etc.)
  • Appropriate salary payment plan
